As you may already know, I LOVE multiples… LIKE seriously LOVE working with multiples! So when I got a message from this sweet mama saying she has triplets I was giddy from inside out! When I met them and learned their amazing story I fell in love with them even more. I had such a great time with this beautiful family. I asked mama to share their story with you. Enjoy!…..
In February 2015, we made an appointment to see if it was possible to have a baby. We were told no by a few different doctors and told our options were surrogacy or adoption. Our sweet sister in law, Leah, offered to be our surrogate. After a year, Leah told us we needed to get moving. In May of 2016, we met with a fertility doctor and the wheels started turning. Flash forward to December 2016, after months of medications, we were to the point off egg retrieval and embryo transfer to Leah for 9 months of safe keeping. After all was said & done, we had 2 embryos make it to Day 5 and were ready for transfer. I’m 40 so my eggs are pretty old when it comes to making babies but we were happy 2 made it. We were told in the beginning of this whole process that the chances of both embryos taking was 15%. We got our first positive pregnancy test 4 days after transfer. Leah took a few tests over the next few days and each one was positive. Finally – we had the beta testing with the clinic and the numbers were off the charts. We were told most likely there was 2 but Leah had a feeling there was more. Sure enough… we had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and the doctor found a stowaway –TRIPLETS!!!!!!! So not only was there a 15% chance of both embryos taking, there was a 1% chance of one of those splitting. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!!? So here we are – living the dream of being parents to 3 awesome little boys who have stolen our hearts and turned our world upside down & inside out.
